One of the greatest gifts of my photography business is meeting new families. This family was so sweet and precious in every.single way. Such tender-hearted people who are head-over-heels about their new baby girl. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed shooting in all parts of the park.

I remember first meeting Canna in 1994 at TLU. She was in my small group for orientation and I remember her enthusiasm and great personality. Who thought back then that I would be photographing her wedding 18 years later. That is what I love about my photography...the re-connection with old friends and the making of new!

The setting was a beautiful little chapel outside of Seguin on New Year's Eve. A very happy day and a great, easy going couple. The venue was perfect for capturing some fun shots. The wedding party was so fun to shoot and we laughed alot!

Can you think of a better way to kick off La-dee-da's 2011 season than with a newborn session? Nope...nothing sweeter! Addison was the perfect, beautiful baby model. I could have not hoped for a better session with this little princess. Kendra, {and family} thank you for choosing me to capture your beautiful, baby girl. I have been terrible about blogging my photography sessions. I resolve to be much better at it in 2011! That website I have been working on for close to a year...well...still waiting but that does not have to keep me from moving forward with this little blogspot, right? My sweet friend, Christina, had me over to capture baby Graham! I also had the pleasure of shooting his newborn shots so it was so much fun to go back. One of the many blessings of doing photography is getting to spend time with so many amazing people. I have known Alyson and Korey since our days at TLU. Michael and Korey played baseball together, which naturally meant that Alyson and I would be friends. In fact, we were bat girls together for several years! We are so lucky to still have them in our lives and I am so fortunate to get to do their photography. Besides the fact they are so sweet and amazing for the eyes and my camera lens, Alyson is a doctor- an OBGYN. She was a major source of support and information for me when trying to decide on having a c-section.

Madison is the most beautiful little girl (check out those eyes!) She and I are friends :) I was so happy for my friends when they announced that a baby boy would be joining their family. Of course, he is precious and perfect in every way!

I am so blessed with all the wonderful people that cross my life. I have known Karen and John for a couple of years as Caden and Isabella went to Ms. Laura's together. I was so excited to get the call from Karen that they were getting married and wanted me as the photographer! The night was perfect in every way. The venue was amazing! A private area right above the Riverwalk, a terrace ceremony, an amazing meal and the most fun reception! I got literally post 500 of my favorite pics from the night but for now, I'll keep it to these- I want them to be surprised when they receive their album.

It was such a delight to see Jesse & Patricia again--this time because a baby is on his way! I had the honor and pleasure of shooting their wedding in '07 @ La Cantera. It was such a beautiful wedding and they are such a wonderful couple. So, when I got an e-mail from Patricia letting me know a little one was on the way I was beyond happy to have the duty of shooting their maternity shots.

Remember my beautiful model, Hailee, from a couple weeks ago? Well, I got to see her again and this time she brought along her family!

She pulled up, jumped out of the car and said, "take a picture of me by my bumper sticker!" And with that, I knew this was going to be a great shoot! Funny thing...I have the same sticker! We love those CPAs! She was up for any pose, was a pro at stricking a pose and made me laugh the entire shoot!

Stevie is going to make a beautiful bride on her wedding day!

I suggested a cute pose on one of the rocks. She said sure!

With all the fun poses, came some pretty poses too! The light was amazing! I am so honored you came down from Dallas to have me shoot your bridal portraits! The Vega's hold a special place in my heart...they were my first clients when I began my business. I shot their rehearsal dinner and later did their maternity pictures when they were expecting Kate. The family walks into my little home studio with that look like (the husband), "ok, I am here, let's get this over with b/c it is one of the most painful things my wife puts me through." Hailee's mom used to work with my mom and I have not seen them in a couple of years. My oh my! Hailee is gorgeous! She was the perfect little model for me our morning at the park. She smiled, danced, jumped and did every pose I asked of her. I was really happy during the shoot, thinking I was getting some good shots but when I opened the pics I was overly joyed with Miss Hailee and her mom. This girl is so photogenic! In less than a month she will be heading to the chapel and on Sunday we captured her bridal portraits. The Botanical Gardens made the perfect location for this shoot! It was my absolute honor to photograph these two on Saturday. They were married a year ago....Issac was being deployed (don't you count your blessings for our military service men & women!)and moved up their wedding before he was deployed. I was already booked for another wedding. A year later we finally had our chance to recreate that day! The beautiful church to ourselves, a couple who was willing to try out my poses, and a couple whos love is obvious. In a couple of weeks I will capture their celebration with friends and family. Some notes from dee....

Scroll down to get to the good stuff but before you do just some general "housekeeping." You may notice that my website is down (not this blog, my blah website.) I pay yearly in June and just was not feeling my website any more (if I ever did at all.) It is in major need of a face lift! So, it will be down for a while getting some much needed improvements. June marks my anniversary for La-dee-da Photography and is also a time for me to set new goals and evaluate where I am at. I could not sleep last night because my head was buzzing with new ideas, etc... I'm excited! One thing I want to do is take my skills to the next level and be cutting edge. I "tried" a little of that today. While I will still shoot the traditional shots, each shoot I will be incorporating in some artistic elements too. Such as angles, expressions, etc... Adan and K were the perfect clients (thanks guys for letting me play a little today.)

Finally, you may remember I had two goals I set last year.

1. Shoot a destination wedding
2. Shoot a birth

By the end of the summer/early September I hope to have done both. Both are planned to happen! I can't wait to share!

I'm going to have to restrain myself on posting Zachary Zu! This was not our "first rodeo" together. I know his energy level, those adorable dimples and the distractions it will take to get him to sit still if even for a second. He knows that I'll be chasing after him for that picture, pointing that big black camera at him and he knows he is faster than me. I snap, snap, snap hoping to get something that will make mama Nat smile. Was I a happy girl when I uploaded these pics (that took over 3 hours!) The range of expressions, those precious shots of him sitting down "posing" for the camera and that heartbreaker smile! Natasha and Johnny are getting married! I had the pleasure of shooting their engagement session this past weekend. I had the brilliant idea of shooting at my favorite park. Little did I know that everyone hangs out at the park on Sunday evenings and they had drained all the water from the park. OOOOOPS! Natasha and Johnny could have not been more cool about the whole thing and just went with it anyways. They were possibly the easiest couple I have ever worked with and that is saying alot because all my clients are beyond wonderful. And...are they not the cutest! Don't get me wrong, I love baby sessions and all the others too; but it is so much fun to get to work with a teenager from time to time. I had the pleasure and honor of shooting Jessica's Senior pictures. We are not done just yet- waiting for a day that is not so windy that we can shoot outside and with her cap and gown. Isn't she beautiful! She works the camera well and I gave her little to no instruction on the poses- just a natural!

I had to limit myself to only 4 pics....I could have kept posting and posting. Mom and dad have not seen these yet- delivering this afternoon. However, could not wait. Nothing better than a newborn, especially when they are as sweet as this one! So beautiful and tiny and mom and dad are completely mesmerized with there little one....I think the pics really capture the emotion. I love this shoot!

***Side note....this dad played ball against my Michael in the NY-Penn League when Michael was with the Cubs organization and Michael works with the Mom's dad @ HEB. We did not make any of these connections until the end of the session- What a small world!

I could have taken them home with me~ I loved their energy and personalities. Their home is beautiful with so many places to get different kinds of shots. I'm back! After taking some time off in August from photography, I started right up today with a newborn! Baby Sloane....beautiful, sweet and such a good baby. She tolerated me and her mama changing her clothes, trying on new head pieces, baskets, blankets, etc.... I think it was all worth it. Congrats on your new baby! She is beautiful! Just a couple for now... The prints are on their way so the couple has not seen any pics yet and I want them to see them first. What a beautiful wedding! The bride was so relaxed and had fun with her bridesmaids before the ceremony. I got some great pics of them dancing around and peeking out the wedding at the arriving guests. This awesome couple kicked off the reception with an impressive showing on the dance floor. They took lessons for weeks and did a great job for their first dance. Love the images of their first dance and really loved the ones of dad's reaction as he saw his daughter as bride for the first time! As always, I lucked out and got another completely awesome couple and got to be a small piece of such a beautiful event!!!!

Sweet sisters....Abby & Caroline

I first photographed this beautiful family when Caroline was still in mommy's tummy and now she is here and ready for some glamour shots of her own. Both girls....eyes that captivate....I love capturing that sisterly love. I love the picture of the girls together! Thanks for coming back to see me! It was great meeting Caroline and you guys now have two beautiful daughters that the camera loves! Congrats!!!

One beautiful daughter, Sophie, and another on the way...what a precious time for this beautiful family! This was my first shoot with this super sweet family and I had a great time! Sophie was a little model and I was honored to catch the excitement and anticipation for new baby sister who will be arriving next month....I can't wait to meet her! Always a favorite....zachary (and nat too :)) He's at that age where he is a very busy little boy. So, what else to do but catch him in his element- playing. The park, swings, legos and dirt- a little boy's heaven. I have always loved his facial expressions and as always, he delivered. I am saving my faves for Nat to see first- I know she will be checking this blog...hee hee! Thanks for spending time in the park with me Zachary and Happy half birthday sweet boy!

Brower-Perez Wedding

One word....beautiful! I'll admit, as with all my weddings, I was nervous beforehand. The weather was soggy and the plan was for an outdoor wedding. Unlikely as I was driving to the Westin La Cantera. Shoot....indoor light can be so tricky! Uggh! However, after indeed having to move the ceremony indoors, the light that came in through the windows during the ceremony was PERFECT! The slight overcast after the ceremony provided for some excellent outdoor shots. All in all the light was not a problem. The wedding was absoultely beautiful, the bride beautiful and the groom handsome! I think I smiled the whole night because it was just that kind of wedding. I loved that they were so relaxed in front of the camera and I think I caught many "real moments" that demonstrate the love between these two. As always, I am only sharing a few shots (so hard to pick which ones!!!) and I am not showing my faves as I think it is only appropriate to save those for the newlyweds. I also wish that blogger uploaded the pictures without reducing their clarity...oh well...you get the jist.

To the couple: Thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer. The night was magical and you make for a wonderful couple. I hope you love your pictures- I had so much fun taking them! Thank you for the plate- it was awesome food and so very thoughtful of you. I wish you a lifetime of happiness and love.

P.S. I am burning your discs tomorrow so should be calling you soon for package delivery!

Isn't she a beautiful bride??? She was so relaxed and excited about getting married. At one point I said to her, "you don't have to say 'thank you' after every picture." She was just so excited about her day that every picture taken was appreciated. She and her groom were so kind the entire time. They even invited me to eat at the dinner (which was delicious):)

I always struggle with which images to put on the blog. I wish that I could share all of them! I love shooting newborns- especially the whole family unit with a newborn. I have been lucky enough to meet several newborns lately and Adan was simply adorable. Abram was cute as pie too (of course, mommy and daddy are not too bad themselves.) We had a fun shoot and hopefully caught the images mommy was looking for. Krisite- you should get these today or tomorrow- I put them in the mail yesterday! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful boys with my camera! I hope you love the pics!

Just a peek.....the newlyweds are still on their honeymoon and won't get to see these until next week. What a beautiful wedding. What an honor to photograph this event. Such a fun loving couple who are going to have an amazing life together. Kate's Baptism

It was truly my honor and blessing to shoot Kate's baptism. I got to photograph this precious family at their wedding rehearsal dinner, maternity pictures and now this most special day of baptism. It was hard to hold back the happy tears for this family. This is the wonderful thing about my business...not only to I get to photograph, I get to attend celebrations, special days and be a small piece of creating lasting memories. I love it!!!

Thank you to Sophia and Sergio....it was honor to be at Kate's baptism and I hope these pictures always remind you of this day.

Side note: I am going to throw this out to the blog world. I am more than blessed with what I have been able to do with La-dee-da Photography. June is my one year anniversary!!! I thank each and every client from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the opportunity to capture your lives. Each setting has taught me something new and inspired me to new levels. I am setting my goals for year 2. Number 1: I would absolutely love to be in the delivery room during a birth to capture those first few seconds of life. To the first client that takes me up on this offer- I will do this at no charge! We would need to clear it with the doctor and hospital and having an induction date would be really great so that I can clear my schedule for the day. Number 2: I want to shoot a destination wedding! I would cut a major deal for any one who might be up for this one (wink, wink)

Taylor & Reese......how precious are these sweet sisters! Lucky for me, their mom is my very dear friend so I get to see these cuties often. Mom wanted to capture Taylor's first birthday pics and some easter pics. The girls did great especially considering they had a little boy running around distracting them :) I always enjoy photographing the Wilson girls while catching up with my sweet friend!

I love when I get to shoot maternity pictures and then a couple months later meet that little baby. I had the pleasure of shooting this great family a couple months ago when baby Darby was still in mommy's tummy. Saturday they were back! Don't you just love big sister, Calla! The camera loves her and baby Darby did so well for the camera....it is pretty stressful when you are just a little one but she hung in there! It was time for a new family photo and I had just the perfect place for this beautiful family. An overcast day, an early Sunday morning- just the right set-up for some great pictures! Victoria Turns One!

With the Spring time weather, comes more photography for La-Dee-da! I began the month shooting this beautiful little girl's First Birthday party. It was a great party and Miss Victoria was the perfect birthday girl. She is always a favorite of mine to photograph! Thanks to the "C" family for allowing me to be part of this special day.

May Cover: Ice Cream

February has been a slow month in terms of client photography which has allowed me more time to concentrate on learning new things and experimenting. However, I did get my marching orders from Our Kids Magazine for the May cover. It was to involve ice cream. They had in mind what they were looking for and I thought Caden's friend, Isabella just fit that part. So, we met up at the park to shoot a "summer looking pic with ice cream" in mid- February. The first order of business was to find some actual green grass and a sunny day. Luckily we kinda found the green grass and it was a gorgeous day. Bella did great and even sampled the ice cream. Of course, Caden also had to participate! I am submitting the pictures tomorrow. I never know which they will choose, if any or we may even go back to the drawing board. Any way, it was a fun day of shooting!

With a slow February about to wrap up, my March calendar is almost booked. Several have mentioned wanting something in March so if you still do....give me a call or e-mail- I don't have many openings left.

Also, I am still debating on mini session Easter pics. I want to do them...it is just a matter of my yard being ready :)

Vega Maternity Shoot

Saturday I had the pleasure and honor of shooting Sophia's maternity pictures. Their wedding rehearsal dinner was my first paid job so it was very meaningful to have them back! They are so cute and natural together. You can see the love between them and the excitment they have about their impending arrival. It was truly an enjoyable shoot. Happy 2007! With the start of a new year, one of my goals is to keep this blog of recent photography I have done. January has already proved to be an exciting month! I shot the January cover for Our Kids Magazine which is currently on newstands. I also started the year with a shoot of the ever-cute and handsome-Z! We dedcided to spend the shoot at the park to capture Z in his element. This cutie just turned one! Happy B-day!
